Natural resource utilisation is always subject to conflicts as there are controversies between use versus conservation and a conflict interest between different forms of utilization. These conflicts need to be managed in a best possible way to dampen conflict levels and to optimize the results for all involved parties. This process of solution seeking is the most important task for present and future natural resource managers.
