Tanel-Taavi Bulitko got a special prize at the Farmer of the Year competition

Eesti Maaülikool awarded Tanel-Taavi Bulitko, Chairman of the Animal Breeders´ Association of Estoniaa special prize at the Farmer of the Year competition, organized by the Maaleht and the Estonian Chamber of Agriculture and Commerce. 

Tanel-Taavi Bulitko was chosen as he demonstrated special efforts in enhancing rural life and agriculture. He supported the activities of Eesti Maaülikool and helped to build contemporary learning and research environment at the Institute.

The competition jury chose a graduate of Eesti Maaülikool, grain grower Madis Ajaots as the 2010 Farmer of the Year. He harvests 7000-8000 tons of cereal every year. In total he cultivates more than 2000 Ha of land at Pilsu farm and Rannu Seeme Ltd. The Farmer of the Year has close works hand in hand with our scientists.  As a result of the Internet voting organized by the Maaleht, Madis Ajaots was chosen as the “favorite of the people”.
 

President Toomas Hendrik Ilves participated in the 2010 Farmer of the Year awarding ceremony, where he greeted the assembled best farmers of Estonia.
