Universities from three Baltic countries will together start to educate future leaders of agriculture and food processing industry
On October the 21th rectors of Estonian University of Life Sciences, Latvian University of Agriculture and Lithuanian Aleksandras Stulginskis University signed cooperation agreement which purpose is to develop and open master’s program International Master in Agri-Food Business Management.
According to director of Estonian University of Life Sciences Institute of Economics and Social Sciences Ants-Hannes Viira international Magister’s degree will be taught to students from all three Baltic countries, studies will take place in all three countries and lectors will be from at least all three Baltic countries. This sort of teaching arrangements will give students international experience and will create a good basis for working on jobs requiring international experience. In the form of problem-based learning there will be cooperation with Baltic companies in agriculture and food sector.
Planned subjects provide an overview on agricultural economics and politics, bioeconomy, human resources and organization management, ethics and social responsibility, as well as financial management and planning, strategic quality and risk management, logistics and marketing.
Total amount of the Programme is 120 ECTS credits and total duration of the Programme is 2 years. Each partner organizes one-semester of studies for the entire group of students and also is responsible for master's thesis preparation of its enrolled students. All courses of the Programme will be prepared and delivered in English, the final theses should be written and defended in English.
First admission is planned for the year 2017.
