The Estonian University of Life Sciences was invited to join ELLS
ELLS network's annual conference in Czech Agricultural University in Prague.
At the beginning of the summer, the Estonian University of Life Sciences received an invitation to join the ELLS (Euroleague for Life Sciences) network. Initially as a follower from 2023, but which is the basis to get the status of a full membership.
The Euroleague of Life Sciences (ELLS) is a network of leading universities cooperating in the fields of natural resource management, agricultural and forestry sciences, life sciences, animal sciences, food sciences, environmental sciences and rural development, incl. in agricultural economics or rural sociology.
"The invitation was a big surprise and an honor, because until now the network has remained relatively unchanged," said Endla Reintam, vice-rector of Estonian University of Life Sciences. The four new ELLS members were announced at the network's annual conference, which took place September 22 - 23 at the Czech Agricultural University in Prague.
The Estonian University of Life Sciences was represented by vice rector Endla Reintam and international relations specialist Karoli Kõiv. New members had the opportunity to introduce themselves, and they were also given an overview of the network's work organization and opportunities.
The areas and goals of ELLS match very well with those of Estonian University of Life Sciences, Endla Reintam stated. The network focuses on joint teaching and learning, student and staff mobility and quality assurance. "Being part of the network helps to increase the international visibility of our university and to offer more versatile opportunities for the mobility of students and employees."
