LIVECLIC - Sustainable Adaptation of Livestock Production to Climate Change is a project co-funded by the Erasmus+ program and is focused on climate change mitigation processes. The project is aimed at providing training to professionals operating in the agri-food sector, who often show a lack of skills related to the sustainable management of farms, as well as food consumers who should receive more information on their choices and habits, in ecological terms.

LIVECLIC's main objective is the design and development of training courses related to the sustainable adaptation of Livestock production to Climate Change. This objective aims to educate all the involved stakeholders of the sector who will contribute to the development of environmentally friendly and sustainable agriculture that will be readily absorbed by the labour market as well as consumers that would have the possibility to change habits and lifestyles by choosing a healthier and greener diet and by being familiar with practices for reducing food waste. The educative results could be useful for the whole society in terms of a more sustainable way of farming, production, consuming and living.

Three specific objectives will be incorporated: 1) to develop training courses adapted to the needs of partner countries, EU strategies and priorities as well as each partner country’s best practices related to the sustainable adaptation of livestock production to Climate Change, 2) to validate training courses through pilot training and 3) to raise the visibility of the developed courses.

The project focuses on farmers in the field of animal production, members of cooperative associations, food business operators, professionals in the field of storage, transport and logistics. Consumer organizations are also a target group as the project aims to enable behavioural changes for individual preferences, and changes in consumption habits and lifestyles including aspects such as reduction of food waste.
