Recently the World Ploughing Contest 2024 https://worldploughing.org/ took place in cooperation with 4 institutions/organisations in Estonia: Estonian University of Life Sciences, World Ploughing Organisation, Estonian Ploughing Association and the Centre of Estonian Rural Reseach and Knowledge.
As part of the Ploughing Contest, the Rõhu experimental garden of our university was open to all interest groups. Interested visitors were introduced to the purpose and activities of the Centre AgroCropFuture and 60 crop trial fields. Junior researcher Peeter Lääniste talked about this year's results. The dry and relatively warm weather has had a good effect on the growth of corn, millet, sorghum and durum wheat. The scientific results will be made public in the coming years.
More than 20 countries participated.
