PhD students are assessed on their studies and research once every academic year based on the Regulation of Studies
Evaluation is carried out by the Evaluation Committees of the PhD curriculas

Veterinary Medicine and Food Science

Befor evaluation:
Please send your evaluation report prepared in the prescribed format and the valid individual plan to Andres Aland (andres.aland@emu.ee) by June 11, 2024 at the latest. Generally, the report must be in Estonian. However, the foreign students submit their reports in English.
Evaluation requires the presence of at least one supervisor. If the supervisor cannot participate, he/she submits his/her assessment in writing to the secretary of the evaluation committee and the supervisee no later than one working day before the evaluation meeting.

For doctoral students who cannot participate in the June assessment due to academic leave, secondment or other reasons
Before evaluation:
Please send your evaluation report in the prescribed format and the valid individual plan to Andres Aland (andres.aland@emu.ee) by August 16, 2024 at the latest. If necessary, the principal supervisor shall send her written evaluation letter to the evaluation committee before the assessment. The supervisor’s participation is similar to the evaluation in June.
Please prepare four to ten PP slides with the following information:
1. Thesis topic and supervisor(s);
2. The current status of the thesis according to the valid individual plan (provide appropriate oral explanations);
3. Articles published or in preparation, according to the classification scheme of the Estonian Research Information System (ETIS);
4. Overview of future work.
Duration of the presentation up to 10 min, followed by questions and discussion.
On average, it takes 15 minutes to listen to one doctoral student.
Note: In order to simplify the internal processing of the documents to be sent, please give them file names according to the following rule:
Surname_evaluation report;
Surname_individual plan;
Surname_................(other documents related to the evaluation).
NB! A new evaluation report form applies to doctoral students matriculated from September 2022; previous students can use the previous report form.
The schedule of evaluations will be announced by the committee after receiving feedback and suggestions from the majority of doctoral students.
