ELLS Scientific Student Conference

ELLS Scientific Student Conference - submit your abstract by June 15th!

The Estonian University of Life Sciences belongs to the Euroleague for Life Sciences (ELLS) which is made up of the best life science universities in Europe: https://www.euroleague-study.org/en/universities.

Every year, one network university organizes a scientific conference for students, which is specifically aimed at BA and MA level students to give them a proper research conference experience. Doctoral students who are just starting are also welcome. It opens up the world of science to younger students and hopefully inspires many to continue their studies on the next level. But above all, it gives you very good contacts in your field across Europe and to start your international network. Master's students can give a boost to their master's thesis or first-year doctoral students can share what they found in their master's thesis.

This year the conference will be held on 22-23 in November at the world's best life science university, Wageningen University in the Netherlands. We invite you to submit your abstract for participation in the conference.

The theme of this year's conference: "The Life Sciences Puzzle - Add Your Piece".

Subtopics that your research should fit under:
- Designing a new economy; achieving prosperity within the limits of the planet
- creating food in a changing world; molding systems for nutritious foods
- following the steps of the farmer; taking care of fields, animals and pastures
- planning sustainable transitions; navigating the intersections of design and execution
- Sustainable use of natural resources; the balance of use and conservation of forests, minerals, water and air
- Discovering the code of life; microscale innovations with macro impact

The deadline for abstract submission is June 15. Detailed information about the requirements and practical things can be found on the conference website here: www.wur.eu/ells2024
By the beginning of September, you will know if your abstract was accepted and after that it will be clarified if you are expected to give an oral presentation at the conference or if you are asked to present a poster.
It is also possible to participate simply as a listener. Registration for the conference opens in September.
The conference is free for participants.

For the best participants from each university, the organizers pay for their accommodation and the Estonian University of Life Sciences will cover their travel expenses.
In addition, we cover the accommodation and travel expenses of up to 4 oral or poster presenters.
The Estonian University of Life Sciences covers the expenses only for those who are students of the Estonian University of Life Sciences at the time of the conference. In other words, if, for example, you're finishing your master's degree now and you will not continue in PhD studies at EMÜ, then unfortunately we can't cover your expenses.
